Roll the dice around Taiwan and see four years in every city

Meet candidates as warm as an ocean current, and travel Taiwan through their policies. Set your household registration, age and job to make a character, then roll the dice round the island from home: in each city, hear what worries the locals and how the candidate plans to fix it. Land on "!" and draw something that really happened in that city over the past four years: good news cheers you up, bad news costs you a heart. Before your hearts run out, see how many cities you can finish and how many achievements you unlock, then share your trip.

Cities open now: Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Taichung City, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Keelung City, Hsinchu City, Chiayi City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Changhua County, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Pingtung County, Yilan County, Hualien County, Taitung County, Penghu County, Kinmen County, Lienchiang County. Short on time? Your first stop is your hometown; one lap takes about 3 minutes and then you can call it a day.

A fan-made election game

Made by volunteer supporters, so more people get to know the candidates we support in each city and county, and their policies. Not the official site of any candidate or party.

How news is chosen

  • Every item really happened in that city after the current leader took office in December 2022, with the original news source.
  • Each city has at least 4 good-news items; each news draw is equally likely good or bad.
  • Events involving deaths or harm to children stay out of the game and are listed only on the Sources page.
  • Candidate views are quoted only in their own words: a response to the event, or a policy on the same issue. If there's none, we leave it out.
  • No content from other parties or candidates.

How to play

  1. ❤️ is how happy you are living here. You start with 10. When your hearts hit zero, the trip ends. Resting at a sight gives +1; every 5 turns travel fatigue sets in, and the longer you go, the more you lose.
  2. Meet your hometown candidate first. After making your character, you'll see three policies from candidate in your hometown; pick the one you care about most. Then at each City Gate you'll see one policy from the local candidate.
  3. Two map layers. The island map links the 19 cities and counties of the main island. Stop at a City Gate to enter a city, go around it once to earn its stamp, then return to the round-the-island trip.
  4. Every city has its own transit. From the transit tiles in a city's corners you can stay in town, or take the metro, High Speed Rail or Taiwan Railway to another city. Cities with flights or ferries can also fly or sail to Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu. From an outlying island you can go back to the main island or hop to another island.
  5. "!" City News. Each side of a city map has a "!" tile that draws a story from that city's news: good news +1 ❤️, bad news −1 ❤️, half and half. Bad news like food poisoning, accident injuries or infectious disease doesn't cost a heart right away; instead you become poisoned, injured or sick, losing −1 ❤️ each turn for the next 2 turns while your character flashes purple, red or green, then you recover. A story drawn in a run won't come back until all have been drawn. Bad news comes with official safety advice, plus the candidate's response or a related policy when there is one.
  6. Resident's Request. Each time you finish a city, a resident shares a worry and asks you to pick the most useful of the candidate's three policies. Only the best fit gives +1 ❤️.
  7. "?" Chance cards.Little moments from daily life: you might gain a heart, lose one, or move forward or back.
  8. Policy tiles on the island route."Guess the City": a billboard shows a policy; guess which city ahead it comes from. Guess right for +1 ❤️. "Blind Pick": three cities' policies on the same issue, names hidden; pick the one you like best, and get +1 ❤️ after the reveal.
  9. Jobs have skills.Health workers lose no hearts from medical bad news; delivery riders and office workers ride the Campaign Van one tile further.
  10. Share.Your achievement card records your round-the-island trip: the cities you finished light up, with your character, the 18 achievements and your City Team (household registration) flag, but no candidates. When the trip ends, next to the achievement card are campaign cards for your hometown candidate and the ones you met on the way; pick the 3 policies that speak to you most and share them. The ones you chose in the game are already checked. You can also pick them on the Policies page.
